Albatrosses on Nests

The next day, we went to Prion Island which has nesting albatroses, and a wooden walk-way up to them. The walkways are intended for humans, but the seal pups find them very useful too! It snowed a bit while we looked, and Tom became more than usually bundled up. Albatrosses flew in, but I haven't mastered my camera sufficiently to catch a bird in flight. Next trip!

Right Whale Bay

That afternoon, we choose a Zodiac ride, weary and choosing not to fight through massive amounts of mud and tussock grass to see more nesting albatrosses. From the relative calm of the Zodiac, we saw adventurers up on the cliff, and below, more of same - king and gentoo penguins and fur seal pups.
