They next day we rented a jeep and it took us for a wild ride. Below Dead Horse Point (below: photo left) there is a dirt road called Potash Road (below: map right) which cuts
across the meander of the Colorado. To get from the rim to 2,000 feet down demanded that I held fast to the jeep,
not my camera. Tom drove!

 

 

 

 
        
 

The following day, so hot that we didn't feel like hiking, we rafted down the Colorado - and stayed cool!
We spent quite a lot of time swimming in the water - getting back into the raft was not pretty.
