We rode through more residential sections of Long Beach to a shoreline bike trail with a view of the Queen Mary (Tom visited the ship yesterday). Seal Beach and Huntingdon Beach saw us out of the LA area. After Laguna Beach, the terrain became more hilly as we pedaled through Dana Point and pretty, residential San Clemente. The closure of campgrounds on San Onofre State Beach left us no choice but to drift a little off route to the San Mateo State Park.
Only photo of Long Beach, due to Liz's
concentration solely on trucks and traffic!
Oct 23 - smoke rises from the fire on Camp Pendleton, an omen of what is to come.
Lunch out of the sun at Laguna Beach.
Smoke creates a brilliant sunset at San Mateo State Park.
On to next day
